Tenth Life’s Fundaising Triumph: 5000 lev raised to neuter stray cats in Varna

Autumn 2023 Neutering Campaign

In a bold campaign, Tenth Life took on Varna’s stray cat crisis, with stellar results. Our mission? To neuter 50-70 cats and curb the suffering of street felines. Prominent Bulgarians like chess ace Antonina Georgieva-Dragashevic and actress and director Dolya Gavanski championed the cause, adding star power to the effort.

Generous donations were the lifeblood of this campaign, making real change possible. Since May 2023, Tenth Life has acted as an association, funded entirely by donors. Over 50 cats have been saved, receiving important care, including neutering, treatment, vaccinations, and adoption support.

Our motto, “Neuter and Return,” reflects our commitment to both cats and the community. Our latest campaign, powered by your compassion, prominent endorsements, and your generosity, is transforming Varna’s streets into safer spaces for its furry inhabitants.

The goal of the campaign was securing funds to neuter 50-70 cats and provide necessary treatment. Neutering one female cat costs 70.00 lev, while males cost 50.00 lev. Prioritizing female cats was crucial as a single street cat could potentially give birth to up to 200 kittens during its lifetime. Addressing this crisis is pivotal in creating a safer and more humane urban environment.

Tenth Life’s successful fundraising campaign shows the impact that a passionate community can make. With the unwavering support of our donors and volunteers we are rewriting the narrative for Varna’s stray cats, one neuter at a time.
